Following NewsGang 6/4/2008 "The most important enterprise application"

Today's NGL closed abruptly during a discussion on the relative value of Twitter vs. other enterprise applications as a rebuttal to the statement that Twitter is the "most important enterprise application of our time".

Today's NewsGang (at least the 2nd half) discussed controls (programatic, regulatory, awareness) to maintain personal information.
My interpretation of the discussion topic is that either:

Twittering old fool

As I write this (2008.03.02), I've been a twitter user for about 2 weeks and I've just embarrased myself with Steve Gillmor on NewsGang Live.
So, I decided to do some homework and share with the class. I'm normally ok with new tools, but with twitter, there's been a disconnect.

NewsGang 2008.02.26 Observations

The following are some observations of the technology thread in the 2/26 episode. The discussion is one that I broached a few calls ago that didn't grow legs but came back with greater focus and a more eloquent opponent to Steve's argument.

Net Neutrality, another round

23,000 wrote the FCC over the last 3 months to drive the FCC to investigate Comcast’s blocking of particular network traffic. A number of organizations have spearheaded this drive, but only 23,000 rose to the challenge. Let your friends know you are aware of this situation and have an opinion. Provide feedback to the FCC. Let them know that you want your internet to remain free and open. Act now to save the internet at: save the internet

Podcatcher for Linux (with authentication)

I just ran into the need for a podcatcher that supports authentication which my workhorse bashpodder doesn’t support (at least I don’t know about it). What I found is Icepodder, which I installed and ran with no problem. I’ll keep bashpodder running with cron for my daily downloads, but when I need authentication - Icepodder.
