The Healthcare Difference

One issue that Clinton and Obama are using to differentiate their platforms is healthcare. Bassed on the estimates of uninsured and the current population about 16% of the U.S. population is currently uninsured. Clinton suggests that the Obama plan would leave 5% uninsured. The discussion is based on finances as being the driving criteria for non-participation with the lowering of the cost of participation the goal of both candidate. Obama would work to drop the cost to a point that cost would not impede participation. Clinton would force participation to lower the cost. Clinton does not estimate the number of the uninsured that would not only remain uninsured, but also face additional financial penalties under her plan.
