Day 7 Update

Day 7 was uneventful. No pain, hopefully gain. I spoke to the the AOCM office to confirm the timeline for getting back to walking. Tomorrow I get to put some weight on the leg. Nothing strenuous but standing and light walking are in order. I need to start physical therapy next week for stength and range of motion. over the following week I an extend my range of walking and add start bicycling.

But first we start by putting some weight on it.

Day 6 Update

I borrowed my daughter's car (an automatic) and drove into work today. No problems with driving or getting around on the crutches with my backpack. While there were no "problems", everything is slower on crutches. I'll be working from home again tomorrow but next week is all in the office.

Day 5 Update

As day 5 wore on, I found that the knee was sensitive to the touch. Overall I'd say the knee was a bit uncomfortable today and I was pretty wiped out. More tired than on a typical day after a full nights sleep (for a change). Since I was working from home I took that afternoon nap that I fantasize about at work. Then dug back in until I'd completed my full 8.

Daily Knee Status/Data

I wish I'd thought of this before the procedure but I'll provide the information I have and update daily until I reach some 'normal' value.

Comments on the day of, the day after

We'll start with the live tweets to establish a time line and I'll add details afterward.

Thank you

I want to thank everyone who has sent their support over the day. I'm feeling pretty well and look forward to an even better Saturday. More observations and status tomorrow. I need to lay low to give the cells a chance to grow and integrate. No weight bearing on the knee for a while, especially tomorrow (ok today). Longer updates later.

Frederick

We arrived in Frederick after dinner and a six hour ride at about 1:30 am on 9/18, 11.5 hours before my procedure. Notice that slick segue into talking about the BMAC/PRP/etc. procedure. Not so fast.
